HTC One M8 has a superb display and is a sleek and slimy smart phone. It has a space for a nano sim only, a feature they have copied from Apple. This mobile however is not available in every part of the world which makes it a little disadvantaged over other mobiles of the same genres although it was released in March 2014.  HTC One (M8) costs USD 764.

LG G2 is a very stylish cell phone that is now available in the markets. It has a class 12 EDGE with a class 12 GPRS. It has a slight drawback of not having an internal memory card slot however the internal memory of the card is exceptionally large. It has a large display with a capacitive touch. The price of this smart phone is USD 552.

The announcement of Samsung Galaxy S5 was made in February 2014 and it was officially released in April 2014. It is very light in weight i.e. 145 grams. One feature that makes it distinct from others is its water resistant capacity. It is also distinguished by Super Amoled capacitive touch screen. The price of Samsung Galaxy S5 is USD 733.

Sony Xperia Z2 is launched with a 4.2 (KitKat) Android Operating System and is available in a variety of colors like black, white and purple. It is constructed with HTML 5 browser in it. Unlike other smart phones it is designed with Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 chipset. It costs USD 652.

Google Nexus 5 has no memory card but a great internal memory slot. It has a capacitive touch screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. This feature makes it unique and different from the rest. It has Android Operating System version 4.4 (KitKat). It costs relatively lower than the rest i.e. USD 349.


All top 5 phones are equipped with capacitive touch screens and 16 M colors. HTC One (M8) has super LCD 3 touch screen that is very soft to touch. Google Nexus 5 and LG G2 are designed with True-HD IPS display screens. Samsung Galaxy S5 also has all 2G, 3G and 4G networks and weighs 145 grams. It has a 16 mega pixel camera and is available in Charcoal Black, Copper Gold, Electric Blue and Shimmery White shades. It has an internal memory of 2GB and also has a memory card slot of 128 GB.

Sony Xperia Z2 has a space for micro sim and has 2G, 3G and 4G networks. It is heavier than its competitors i.e. 163 grams. It also has a larger internal memory i.e. 3 GB and contains a memory card slot up till 128 GB. With an exceptional camera of 20.7 mega pixel, Z2 is available in different shades of Black, White and Purple.

Google Nexus 5 weighs 130 grams and is equipped with 2G, 3G and 4G networks. There is no memory card slot and the internal memory ranges to 2 GB. It has an 8 MP camera and is found in Black, White and Red colors.

Found in Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold shades, HTC one (M8) has an area allocated for insertion of a nano-sim. It has all networks in it and has a dual camera of 4 mega pixel which is relatively less revolutionized than the competitors. It weighs 160 grams.

Performance and Battery:

HTC One is equipped with complete data connection i.e. GPRS, EDGE, WLAN, Bluetooth, Infrared port and USB. It consists of Android operating system version 4.4.2 (KitKat). It has a Non-removable Li-Po 2600 mAh battery with a stand by time of up to 271 h (2G) / Up to 496 h (3G) and talk time of up to 14 h (2G) / Up to 20 h (3G). It has a chipset of Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801.

N5 also has the same OS that is upgradable to 4.4.3. It contains the same data connectivity except infrared port. The battery is also similar with a talk time of (2G) / Up to 17 h (3G) and stand by time of (2G) / Up to 300 h (3G). The chipset is Qualcomm MSM8974 Snapdragon 800.

With the same chipset and OS as HTC One (M8), the data connectivity of Z2 resembles that of N5. The battery is Non-removable Li-Ion 3200 mAh battery. It has a stand by time of Up to 690 h (2G) / Up to 740 h (3G) and talk time of Up to 15 h (2G) / Up to 19 h (3G).

S5 has the complete data connectivity package with infrared port as well. The operating system and chipset are similar to that of M8. The battery has a stand by time of up to 390 hours and talk time of up to 21 hours.

With a stand by time of Up to 790 h (2G) / Up to 900 h (3G) and talk time of Up to 16 h 30 min (2G) / Up to 17 h 30 min (3G), G2 has the complete package of data connectivity. It supports the former android OS that 4.2.2 (jelly beans) that is upgradable to 4.4.2 (KitKat).


G2 is equipped with both primary and secondary cameras. The primary is 13 MP with features like Simultaneous video and image recording, geo-tagging, face detection, HDR autofocus, optical image stabilization and LED flash.

S5 also has both cameras and is equipped with features like  phase detection autofocus, LED flash, 1/2.6'' sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size, Dual Shot, Simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, image stabilization and HDR. The primary camera is 16 MP whereas the secondary is only 2MP.

Distinguished by its super primary camera of 20.7 MP and secondary camera of 2.2 MP, Z2 has features including autofocus, LED flash,1/2.3'' sensor size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, image stabilization, HDR and panorama.

N5 has a primary camera of 8 MP and secondary camera of 1.3 MP. Features like autofocus, optical image stabilization, LED flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, photo sphere, HDR and dual recording are also included in the smart phone.

HTC One (M8) has primary camera of dual 4MP and secondary one of 5MP. It consists of features like autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, 1/3'' sensor size, 2µm pixel size, automatic simultaneous video and image recording, geo-tagging, face and smile detection, HDR and panorama.

Software and Apps:

All the above mentioned smart phones support the latest android OS i.e. 4.4.2 (KitKat) except Google Nexus N5 that has a 4.2.2 (Jelly beans) OS that is upgradable to 4.4.2 (KitKat).
