iphone 6 Sales breaks all previous pre-order Sales Records!
The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus seem to have broken all previous iPhone preorder sales records, moving a huge four million units in just 24 hours. Apple today publicized that it has processed more than four million iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre-orders in the first day of pre-launch sales in the select countries that started accommodating orders on September 12. This number doubles Apple's formerly announced record of two million pre-order sales for the iPhone 5 in 2012.
“iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “Pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a new record for Apple, and we can’t wait to get our best iPhones yet into the hands of customers starting this Friday.”
Apple records that it’s set a certain quantity of the new phones aside for its Apple Stores, so that “walk-in customers” have a shot at picking one up on September 19 at 8:00 a.m. local time. Apple’s hopeful that people would turn up to arrive early for the privilege, or to just order from the Apple Online Store and secure a phone for pickup onsite. The company adds that it has apportioned an unknown number to carriers including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless as well as “select Apple Authorized Resellers.”
